Peter Lord
Peter M. Lord is one of today's pastor teachers. In demand as a speaker in churches and at conferences across the nation, he has ministered to thousands challenging them to growth and maturity in their Christian walk.
Peter's call and gift from God is teaching on the Christian's inner life. His first book, The 2959 Prayer Plan, dealing with the believer's personal prayer life, has sold well over 500,000 copies and been translated into four languages.
Peter pastored the Park Avenue Baptist Church, in Titusville, Florida for thirty years. The church maintains a viable Retreat Center Ministry located on the same sprawling grounds just minutes away from Kennedy Space Center. A kingergarten through eighth grade Christian School, as well as an extensive communications program, along with Park Avenue Bookstore, which provides publications, tapes, and videos to a wide-reaching audience is also part of this vital ministry.
Peter Lord was born in Kingston, Jamaica, British West Indies. Educated in private school there, he came to the United States to attend college and seminary. He is a gratuate of New Orleans Seminary. He and his wife, Johnnie, have five children and nine grandchildren.
His most recent books include: Hearing God, published by Baker Book House, which teaches one how to hear and recognize God's voice; Turkeys and Eagles, published by Christian Books Publishing House; and Our Father Speaks Through Hebrews, a devotional book published by Soul Care Ministries. Baker Book House released Soul Care in the summer of 1990 and Chosen Books, now owned by Baker Book House, published Keeping the Door Open.
